PROGRAMS & SERVICES

More Than Child's Play offers a range of programs and services to support low income, socially isolated, single parent families with preschool children. Our programs include early childhood education, parenting support, social and emotional skill-building, and community events. Click here to learn more about our programs and services.

Children's Activities

Learning
Activities

To encourage early learning, we provide children with the ability to express themselves through creative arts, sensory activities, and music. Our infant area is separated from the rest of our play room to allow infants to crawl, mirror play and bond with their parents or caregivers with the help of age appropriate toys

Gym

Time

Indoor Gym (September-June) is Tuesday and Thursday 10:00-11:30

Children are provided with a range of activities and age appropriate toys to encourage their physical development.  These activities include riding bicycles, peddle cars, playing hockey and basketball.

Nutritional
Snack

MTCP offers a nutritional snack to encourage children to sit together in a group, try new foods, learn good table manners and eating habits and socialize.

Support Services

Parenting Support

At More Than Child's Play, we understand the challenges of being a parent. We offer a variety of parenting support services to help you navigate the ups and downs of raising a child. Our services include one-on-one consultations, support groups, and workshops. 

Clothing 
Program

The program provides families that attend the regular drop in programs an opportunity to receive monthly donations of clothing (based on our supply at the time) Please click on the photo to read the Clothing Program Policy and see a staff person for more information on this program and to register.

Parenting and General Interest Workshops

These workshops include managing stress, relaxation exercises and basic first aid. The Centre also delivers workshops on child development, “Nobody’s Perfect” parenting classes, and early literacy workshops, as well as services such as cooking classes, art workshops and computer skills.

Volunteer Opportunities

We rely on the support of volunteers to keep our programs running smoothly. If you're interested in volunteering with us, we offer a variety of opportunities to get involved, including event planning, fundraising, and program support. 

Social and Emotional Skill-Building

At More Than Child's Play, we recognize the importance of social and emotional development in young children. We offer a range of programs and services to help children develop these crucial skills, including play-based learning, art therapy, and mindfulness practices.

We believe in the power of early childhood education to set children up for success later in life. Our programs are designed to provide children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn, play, and grow. 

Special
Events

We believe that building strong communities is key to supporting families. That's why we host a variety of community events throughout the year, including bake sales, fun fairs, fundraising galas and more.
